AMD Zen3 for desktop expected in September
Tom’s Hardware is reporting after DigiTimes that AMD is planning to launch Ryzen 4000 series for desktop around September. This rumored launch collides with a new date for Computex expo, which has now shifted to September 28. Thus, AMD could be showing new processor series at the event, a report from ComputerBase indicates.
There are some rumors that AMD was originally planning to launch Ryzen 4000 at Computex in June, but ComputerBase sources confirm that was never the case. The series was not expected sooner than July.
In fact, AMD Lisa Su already confirmed in an interview that Zen 3 desktop will launch the end of this year. She reiterated this claim during Analyst Day in March.
AMD Ryzen 4000 series, codenamed Vermeer, will feature Zen 3 architecture with further 7nm node optimizations. If the rumors are true, then the desktop 4000 series will arrive half a year later after the recently announced mobile 4000 series (based on Zen 2).
