HMS On The HUAWEI Nova 7 SE — A Reassuring Experience
Despite HUAWEI Mobile Services (HMS) and the AppGallery being available for some time now, a number of you may still be unclear of what they can offer. Today, we’re giving you a preview of that, especially with the impending arrival of the company’s new offering, the HUAWEI Nova 7 SE.
Plentiful Apps All-Around the AppGallery
Not only does the HUAWEI AppGallery come with tons of apps in the store, they also have several advantages compared to the ones found on the Google Play Store. Here are some comparisons between the two:

The apps found on the HUAWEI AppGallery go through a developer identity verification system, on top of a four-layer detection method. With this, the AppGallery screens through all the apps, ensuring all of them are free from vulnerabilities, malicious content, and most importantly giving you peace of mind.
In addition to a long list of apps available on the HUAWEI AppGallery, the application store has special rewards and gift packs that you can get, which can be claimed with HUAWEI Points at the HUAWEI AppGallery Gift Centre.
Making the Switch with Phone Clone
Making the switch from your old device to a HUAWEI smartphone is easy. Continuing on that topic with the HUAWEI nova 7 SE coming, the Phone Clone app lets you transition easily. You can transfer contacts, SMS, call logs, notes, recordings, calendar, photos, music, videos, documents, and apps with ease.
If your previous device isn’t a HUAWEI / HONOR smartphone, Phone Clone might not be able to transfer everything for WhatsApp. But do not fret, you can follow the steps below for an alternative solution:
- Download WhatsApp on your HUAWEI Nova 7 SE
- Go to your old device on WhatsApp, go to Settings > Chat > Chat Backup
- Tap Backup to Google Drive and pick “Never”, then tap on “Backup”
- Go to Files, select Internal Storage > WhatsApp > Databases
- Select the last file in Databases (db.crypt.12) and send it to your HUAWEI Nova 7 SE via Bluetooth or WiFi Direct
- On your HUAWEI device, go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Permissions > Storage. Choose “Allow”. Remember to allow WhatsApp to access your contacts too
- Go to Internal Storage > WhatsApp > Database > check if the db.crypt.12 file from earlier is there
- You may now login to your WhatsApp on your new HUAWEI smartphone with your phone number, with your chats fully restored
