Sony Launches New FE 35mm F1.4 GM Full-frame Lens At RM6,799

Sony Malaysia has announced today of the latest addition to their G Master full-frame lens series with the introduction of the FE 3.5mm F1.4 GM (model SEL35F14GM). The lens features advanced focusing capability such as shooting landscapes, portraits and street photography, both stills and video.

The Sony FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens weighs in at 524g and boasts advanced optical technology according to the company where it features two XA (extreme aspherical) elements to maintain superb resolution throughout the image area.

Sony has also said that the compact 35mm lens performs in difficult lighting where it comes with an ED glass element and other optical refinements to suppress chromatic aberration and purple fringing for better results.

With Sony’s XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors, they provide thrust efficiency that’s needed for precise AF and tracking. Its control algorithms also improve control response and precision whilst minimizing vibration and noise for fast, smooth, and silent AF performance.

Aside from that, the Sony FE 35mm F1.4 GM offers full control with a focus hold button, and focus mode switch in providing smooth operation. An aperture ring with switchable click stops can be turned off for movie shooting. When using on an APS-C camera or with a Super 35 angle of view, it can be used as a standard lens equivalent to 52.5mm. Additionally, the lens is dust and moisture resistant and its fluorine front element coating repels water, oil, and other contaminants.

The Sony FE 35mm F1.4 GM will be arriving here in Malaysia from February 2021 onwards for the price of RM6,799. Sony has said that they will be offering the lens for an early bird promotion, so you can expect that to be announced soon.
