Free 1GB Data To Continue Until April 2021 Under PERMAI
During the recent special address, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced that as part of the new relief package, the free 1GB data offered to all Malaysians will be extended until April this year. The new relief package, officially titled Pakej Bantuan Perlindungan Ekonomi dan Rakyat Malaysia (PERMAI) includes 22 different packages aimed to help Malaysians during the COVID-19 pandemic and is worth RM15 billion.
PERMAI: Free 1GB data until April
The free 1GB data was first introduced during last year’s Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara (PENJANA) relief package back in June and was due to end this March. It has now been extended for another month.
Furthermore, through PERMAI, the previously announced special data package for SPM and STPM students has now been extended to include university and college students as well. The Special Data Packages will offer 15GB of High-Speed Internet for RM20 and will be valid for only 30 days. Previously, only students born from 2001 to 2004 are eligible to apply.
Pokdepinion: It’s good that the government is coming out with this sort of internet data packages for the masses under PERMAI. I know a few people who could really do with free data like this especially when you have to work from home during these trying times.
