POCO F3 GT might be rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition

The awesome Redmi K40 Gaming Edition has yet to make a global appearance outside of China, but it might debut in India soon. Not as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, but apparently as the POCO F3 GT.

It wouldn’t be too surprising to see Xiaomi rebrand the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition as the POCO F3 GT, considering the Redmi K40 has been rebranded for the global market as the POCO F3. It will also mark the first flagship-class POCO to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.

POCO will also gain its first gaming smartphone, which is a great step forward for the POCO brand. POCO’s main focus has always been great specifications for the price, so the POCO F3 GT would fit right in.

POCO India has confirmed that the POCO F3 GT is coming in Q3 2021 with the Dimensity 1200 under the hood, but hasn’t revealed any other features or specifications. However given Xiaomi’s current lineup, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is definitely a prime candidate to be rebadged as the POCO F3 GT.

It is worth mentioning that the Redmi K40 was not introduced in India as the POCO F3, but it was instead launched as the Xiaomi Mi 11X. Hopefully since we have the POCO F3 in Malaysia, the POCO F3 GT will be a natural addition to the lineup here.

Pokdepinion: I sure hope it arrives in Malaysia too… I really want to give it a try. Maybe I can upgrade from my POCO F2 Pro too. Hopefully without the POCO India branding.
