Samsung Announces Price Cut For Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung Malaysia has just announced that their two most recent folding devices will see reduced retail prices starting immediately. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 will now carry a retail price of RM6,999 instead of RM7,999. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, on the other hand, can now be gotten at a retail price of RM3,999.

New prices for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip

Just a bit of a refresher. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 is a sequel to Samsung’s first foldable device, the Samsung Galaxy Fold which was somewhat of a game-changer and kickstarted the trend of foldable smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold2 sports two displays; a 6.2-inch HD+ (2260 x 816) Super AMOLED display on the outside and a 7.6-inch QXGA+ (2208 x 1768), Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display on the inside.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 touts a rear triple camera setup which includes a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. It also comes equipped with a 10MP selfie camera. The device also features a Snapdragon 865+ SoC, 12GB RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is a foldable device that was launched right after Samsung’s first Galaxy Fold device. It featured a clamshell folding style that is reminiscent of a makeup compact as well as evoking the retro folding phone.

The Galaxy Z Flip also features two displays; a 6.7-inch FHD+ (2636 x 1080), Foldable Dynamic AMOLED as well as a 1.1-inch (300 x 112) Super AMOLED “window’ display on the front. The Z Flip features a rear dual-camera system that includes a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Other features include a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS 3.0 internal storage as well as a 3,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

Pokdepinion: If you’ve been looking to get Samsung’s foldable devices for a while now then this might be the time to do so. As for me, I can’t ever afford these devices so it’s gonna be an insta-pass for me.
