Grab is introducing two new features to GrabFood that includes the ‘Near Me’ tile that is available nationwide right now and the ‘Premium Delivery’ option that will be introduced in phases starting with Klang Valley.

GrabFood is making it easier for customers to find eateries within a three-kilometre radius by grouping them under the ‘Near Me’ tile and reducing delivery rates to as low as RM1 for these establishments. This makes it even more convenient for customers to support their local eateries from the comfort of their own homes.

Grab will subsidise delivery fees to compensate for the low rates, ensuring that delivery partners’ income is not impacted. Consumers are spoilt for choice with inexpensive meals near them anytime, any day, thanks to continuing discounts like HotDeals and the monthly Minggu Peniaga Kecil.

Those in a hurry might choose ‘Premium Delivery’ to ensure that their order arrives on time. When Grab first tested the function in August, one-third of customers chose ‘Premium Delivery’ during rush hours. If orders do not arrive within the specified time range as shown on the Grab app, consumers who choose ‘Premium Delivery’ will be reimbursed with GrabFood coupons.

In addition to these new features to order their food, consumers can also consider either scheduling their order for later delivery or an option for self-pick-up.

Pokdepinion: These are good new additions to the app. Lately, I’ve been leaning more towards GrabFood rather Foodpanda mainly because there are more options and the rates are somewhat cheaper.
