With a svelte design and a durable aluminum case, The new Acer Chromebook Spin 513 (CP513- 2H) features a svelte design and aluminum chassis, giving the build a MIL-STD 810H durability. It’s meant for anyone and everyone, from education to work and more. It’s powered by the octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor and is said to give up to 10 hours of battery life per full charge.

As for the display, it is a VertiView 13.5-inch display with 2256 x 1504 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio, the latter of which is said to give 18% more vertical screen real estate compared to the traditional widescreen display. If you’re wondering about bezels, it’s quite thin at just 7.7mm, letting you enjoy the visuals with ease. It also has DTS Audio with upward-facing speakers for added immersion.

It’s worth noting that the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 is a convertible, so you can use it like a regular laptop, a tablet, in tent mode, and presentation mode. Added together with Wi-Fi 6 support, backlit-keyboard, upward-facing microphones, and a multipurpose USB-C port, you get a very versatile portable productivity machine.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 513 (CP513-2H) will be available in North America in June 2022 starting at USD $599.99; and in Europe, Middle East, and Africa in April 2022 starting at €649

Acer Chromebook 315

Further emphasizing their stance on Chromebooks with large displays, the new Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-4H/T) uses a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare display with touchscreen as an optional add-on. Given the size, it still manages to fit in a full-sized keyboard, complete with a Numpad. Interestingly, it comes with two USB Gen2 Type-C ports and a microSD card reader.

To aid students in their studies and those who need to work on-the-go, it comes with an HDR webcam with a wide FOV and flare-reducing technology along with a pair of integrated microphones for improved video call experience. Adding on DTS Audio, Wi-Fi 6, and a claimed 10-hour battery life, you will get to enjoy work and play from anywhere without being glued to the plug.

Apart from that, the Acer Chromebook 315 is fitted with an eco-friendly OceanGlass touchpad, which is made out of ocean-bound plastic waste that has been recycled into a glass-like texture. It is part of the company’s initiative for a more sustainable future, and it is said to give a sleek, responsive tactile feedback.

The Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-4H/T) will be available in North America in January 2022 starting at USD $299.99; and in Europe, Middle East, and Africa in April 2022 starting at €399

Pokdepinion: That convertible one sounds like it could be a pretty solid Windows laptop alternative. I’m not too sure if I can make do without my usual software suite, but for more simplified work, that should be more than capable.
