NVIDIA didn’t reveal a new GPU at its GPU Technology Conference, and it seems like they won’t be in a rush to reveal a new GPU any time soon. And of course, NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang also took the opportunity to take a few jabs at the red camp.

What makes us special is we can create the most energy-efficient GPU in the world at anytime, and we should use the most affordable technology. Look at Turing. The energy-efficiency is so good even compared to somebody else’s 7nm – Jensen Huang

The sad thing is that it’s true. While AMD adopted the cutting edge 7nm process node, the AMD Radeon VII just trades punches NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 2080 in terms of performance but gets left far behind when it comes to efficiency. NVIDIA is walking all over AMD right now despite the fact that Turing is based on the older and less efficient 12nm manufacturing process.

Hopefully with AMD’s upcoming Navi architecture they can finally regain their footing and offer a better alternative to NVIDIA’s efficient and powerful cards. As it stands, NVIDIA’s newer cards aren’t exactly great in terms of bang-for-buck, but you can’t really blame them since there is no other choice for you if you want high end graphics right now.

Pokdepinion: I usually prefer AMD, but currently I am rocking a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti because of G-SYNC Compatible. AMD definitely needs a response to NVIDIA, and they need it fast.
