POCO M5 and M5s Launched in Malaysia; From RM599

POCO officially announces the availability information for their new models, M5 and M5s.

First comes the M5s – sharing the same layout as Redmi’s counterpart, Note 10S, features similar specs such as MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, 6.43″ FHD+ AMOLED display, 33W fast charging and 5000mAh battery. Camera array features 64MP main shooter, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor, plus a 13MP front-facing camera. Variants include 4GB and 6GB RAM, with 64GB and 128GB storage available respectively.

The cheaper model, M5, is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 and also sports a bigger, 6.58″ FHD+ IPS display. It supports variable refresh rate capability ranging from 30Hz to 90Hz. Camera loadout include 50MP main shooter, alongside 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. The front camera, housed inside a teardrop notch, is a 5MP sensor. It features the same 5000mAh battery, however fast charging is limited to 18W only.

Both models will be available on official Lazada and Shopee – M5s is priced at RM699 for 4GB/64GB and RM899 for the 6GB/128GB model. For the first week (7 – 14 Sep), POCO offers discounts to RM659 and RM849 respectively.

On the other hand, M5 will cost RM649 for 4GB/64GB and RM799 for 6GB/128GB; first week discounts drop the prices down to RM599 and RM699 respectively.

Pokdepinion: Specs look pretty decent for a budget phone of this price range.
