Call of Duty’s anti-cheat team, Ricochet, has officially introduced globally a new feature that detects third party hardware which interferes with gameplay. These devices typically act as a passthrough in between mice and host system to provide players an ability to gain unfair advantage by reducing or eliminating gun recoil. This feature is now live on both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0.

When such device is detected, the game will first warn the player with the message “Unsupported Device Warning”, and continued use will result in further punishments including “additional warnings, the deployment of mitigations (which includes a few rather amusing effects that prevents the cheater from damaging other players), account or feature suspensions, or the banning of the offending account across Call of Duty titles, per our Security and Enforcement Policy.”

Aside from that, the new “Replay Investigation Tool” will record any completed match for further review, in order to determine if players has cheated in the process. This process will be automatic for matches in the “highest tiers of competition”, and any suspicious accounts will have their gameplay data captured for review as well. Additionally, behavioral offenses (such as griefing) will also be subjected to similar punishments as above.
