The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the most anticipated games of the year, is set to release on 12th May 2023 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. However, the game’s data has already been leaked online, allowing enthusiasts to run the game on Nintendo Switch emulation software.

While this is undoubtedly exciting news for those eager to get their hands on the game, it also means that spoilers will likely start circulating online, making it tough for fans to avoid them. Nintendo will probably take down any content that contains spoilers.

Currently, Ryujinx is the only emulator capable of running Tears of the Kingdom, but with the ROM now available online, other emulators like Yuzu are likely to add the game to their support list soon. It’s only a matter of time before the emulators run the game smoothly, as happened with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is now entirely playable via Yuzu or Cemu on PC.

While Nintendo has yet to react officially to the leak, it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to stop the spread of the game’s data. Sharing the ROM file for Tears of the Kingdom is illegal, but those familiar with piracy won’t see this as any barrier and the file will likely continue to spread.

It’s worth noting that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be Nintendo’s first self-published title to carry a price tag of $70. The leak of the game’s data may have an impact on its sales, but it’s too soon to tell. Regardless, fans of the series will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating the game’s official release next week.

Pokdepinion: The sad part is that it will inevitably affect the sales of the game. I just hope there will still be a good number of people who will at least buy the game to support the developers if they like the game enough.
