The much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event is just around the corner, and the tech giant is not holding back on surprises. Alongside the expected unveiling of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Watch 6, Samsung is reportedly set to introduce three new high-end tablets. Ahead of the event, leaked specifications of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra have emerged from a reputable source, giving us a glimpse of what’s in store.

According to renowned tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra appears to bring forth a series of minor improvements compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The standout change is the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Beyond that, much remains unchanged, which could leave some tech enthusiasts wanting more.

The tablet is rumored to boast a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate, ensuring smooth and vibrant visuals. Samsung stays committed to an exceptional audio experience, as the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is equipped with a quad-speaker setup. Powering the device is an impressive 11,200mAh battery, promising extensive usage without frequent recharging. However, it’s worth noting that the tablet retains a notch on the display to accommodate a dual-front-facing camera setup.

Regarding its camera capabilities, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is said to feature a 13MP primary rear camera, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera – an upgrade from its predecessor’s 6MP ultrawide lens. While the improvement is welcomed, some enthusiasts might have preferred a more substantial enhancement, such as a 12MP ultrawide camera. On the front, the tablet will sport two 12MP cameras, one being an ultrawide unit, while the other serves as a wide-angle lens.

Tab S8 Ultra for reference

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is expected to launch with Android 13, although the exact One UI version has not been revealed in the leaked images. Speculations suggest it will debut with One UI 5.1.1, packed with an array of new features aimed at enhancing multitasking and productivity. Similar to its predecessor, the tablet will offer a 5G variant, complete with both a physical SIM card slot and an eSIM. Additionally, users will have the convenience of expanding storage with a microSD card slot.

Evan Blass provided a sneak peek at the tablet through some images that showcased its design and accessories. Although the images were taken down shortly after, they revealed a design similar to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. However, there appeared to be a change in the rear camera setup, which was now separated from the magnetic charging dock for the S Pen. The camera design resembled that of the current-generation Galaxy smartphone lineup, featuring individual camera rings.

The tablet will also be accompanied by an optional Book Cover Keyboard, much like its predecessor. The design of the keyboard cover seems to remain unchanged, boasting a tenkeyless keyboard layout and a multitouch trackpad – perfect for those seeking a laptop-like experience.

Expected features of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra include GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, DeX (Wired & Wireless), and 45W fast charging – all contributing to a seamless user experience.

Pokdepinion: I’m quite excited to give the tablet a try. It’s really blurring the boundaries of a tablet and a laptop, with the key here being software. If it can do everything you need with the apps that it has, I’m sure people would lean more towards this given how easy it is to bring around.
