Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic First Impressions

Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic Unboxing and First Impressions

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic sees the return of the Classic moniker instead of a Pro model like last year. This is more than just about naming conventions as we also see the return of the fan favorite rotating bezel. This time around, we got the larger 47mm variant, but the smaller 44mm is pretty much identical to it with the exception of physical size, screen size, and battery capacity, in case you were wondering. Inside the box, we found the following items:

  • Wireless charger (USB-C)
  • The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic itself

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic comes with a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED Display with Sapphire Crystal and stainless steel frame. The resolution is set at 480 x 480, and it’s quite durable as it has a IP68 water / dust resistance rating, 5ATM water resistance, and MIL-STD-810H compliant, so you can easily use it for workouts or bring it to the pool with you if you wish. What I really like is this Hybrid Eco-Leather band, which is vegan leather with fluoroelastomer  lining. It looks and feels like it’s the best of both worlds when it comes to using it for workouts and a night out with a dash of class.

This time around, we get an upgraded Exynos W930 chip with a 1.4GHz clock speed, mated to 2GBs of RAM and 16GB of storage. While we didn’t manage to get into the specifics of the new chip as Samsung is more focused on a functional approach rather than raw power, but the memory improvement will certainly make a big difference. Keep in mind that this is for a wearable, not a smartphone, as this level of upgrade on the latter would be rather small to make a difference. Most of what makes this new lies in its features, which will require extensive testing to know how well it performs and how much better it is than its predecessor. For now, you can check out its specifications right below here:
