Samsung Portable SSD T9 Launched, Offers Size Options Up To 4TB

Samsung has launched its latest addition to the T-series, the Portable SSD T9. With its USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps) interface, the T9 delivers sequential read/write speeds of up to 2,000MB/s, making it twice as fast as the previous model, the T7. This, on paper, enables users to transfer a 4-gigabyte Full HD video in just two seconds.

The T9 comes in three storage capacities: 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB; all of that is fit within a small form factor of just 88 x 60 x 14mm (weighs 122g), or similar to a credit card. On the design side of things, it integrates both the ruggedness and luxury elements inspired by the T7 Shield model with its diagonal rib patterns that Samsung says mimics a “luxurious wallet”.

To ensure data transfer is smooth and efficient, Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard is designed to minimize performance drops caused by overheating, it’s also capable of withstanding three-meter drops. Samsung offers 5-year warranty for the T9 as well, and gives users the option to manage the SSD with its Magician 8.0 software. In the packaging, it’ll come with both USB-C to USB-C as well as USB-C to USB-A cables for connectivity convenience.

While available globally, Samsung is yet to announce local pricing for the Portable SSD T9 at the time of this writing.

Pokdepinion: It certainly has a premium feel to it, though I expect this will cost quite a bit.
