A Single-Slot RTX 4060 Ti Designed By Colorful Makes For A Unique Card

It’s not everyday that you get to see modern GPU still using single-slot form factors, given the increased power usage of these silicon, or just a design choice to opt for half-height two-slot instead of full-height single-slot card. Apparently, one of the AIBs, Colorful, has designed such a card to house the silicon that is RTX 4060 Ti.

As discovered by MEGAsizeGPU (@Zed_Wang), this GPU doesn’t come with any branding aside from the mandatory “GeForce RTX” wordmark. It’s safe to say this is not designed with gamers in mind – as the single-slot blower form factor is more commonly seen in multi-GPU setups where cards get stacked next to each other. In any case, the card measures at 267 x 107 x 20mm, and uses a single PCIe 8-pin connector off the tail end of the card for power.

As for why such card exists, the reasons are two-fold: one, this may be used as a video wall display which requires lots of display outputs to work; or alternatively, it can be built as a low-cost AI machine, which provides plenty of VRAM (this is a 16GB card) when multiple cards like this one is stacked together.

That being said, NVIDIA has previously barred AIBs from designing cards like this one to not cannibalize sales of its RTX workstation GPUs – though historically Team Green seems to be more concerned with high-end GPUs such as RTX 3090, whereas mid-range cards get a pass.
