NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER’s Existence Seemingly Confirmed Through PCI ID Repository

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER's Existence Seemingly Confirmed Through PCI ID Repository

Per Videocardz, the much-rumored souped-up version of the RTX 4080 which has been circulating for the whole week so far is now seen in what’s called a PCI ID Repository. Basically, it’s a list of IDs that corresponds to various add-in cards, some of which of course includes GPUs. According to the outlet, this list is often maintained by various individuals, sometimes possessing non-public data.

This particular ID of 10de:2703 comes courtesy of an alias who goes by T4CFantasy – who is a maintainer of TechPowerUP’s massive GPU database. It’s presumed that this person has access to early GPU BIOSes and GPU-Z validations, so this entry should prove at some significance to the RTX 4080 SUPER’s existence (although it’s not a guarantee that it is a product that will launch despite being listed).

The entry also mentioned AD103, which corroborated with the claims of @kopite7kimi, who earlier refuted claims of AD102, 20GB variants of the GPU and instead purported a small spec bump instead. No other variants of the 4080, aside from the vanilla model, is found on this list – it’s also worth mentioning that the vanilla model occupies the ID of 10de:2704, right next to the RTX 4080 SUPER variant. RTX 4090 meanwhile occupies 10de:2684 instead.

Sources of Videocardz has also mentioned that no information was provided to AIBs so far, which indicates that such information likely originated within NVIDIA’s insiders. It’s also noted that no new GPUs will be launched in 2023 – which matches the claims that RTX 4080 SUPER should make its debut somewhere in early 2024.
