Hate spam emails, but can’t seem to find the tiny unsubscribe link to shut them up? Google’s answer for that will come in the form of a very visible button in the Gmail app: the “Unsubscribe” button will sit in line with the email title – making it a much simpler affair. You should be able to see this feature available soon, as the feature is currently in the beta/insider builds.

Somehow, such a feature hasn’t already widely existed before, and we’re already in 2023, mind you. According to TheSpAndroid, the Gmail version 2023.11.12.582736815 brings two new features: first is the Predictive Back navigation mode, which is designed for Android 14 as it is a system-level UI change. Essentially, Predictive Back reveals the previous screen as you swipe from either side of the screen, but it requires explicit support from app developers to make it work, which will take some time to roll out.

Then there’s the big, obvious Unsubscribe button we just mentioned earlier. Previously, the button was already available on the web version of Gmail (admittedly it’s not quite as visible since it’s a hyperlink instead of a button), however, that wasn’t available in the app version until the recent build. That said, it likely won’t work on all emails, based on our observations on the web client. If that particular email sender really irritates you, however, there’s also the “block” option should you need it.

Pokdepinion: Neat addition – I do find the Gmail mobile app lacking in some aspects before this.
