Earlier today, OnePlus held a major event in China where the company unveiled the new OnePlus 11 smartphone. In addition to the smartphone, OnePlus also introduced the updated version of its wireless earbuds, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 feature improved noise canceling technology, spatial audio with Dolby Atmos support, and sound tuning by Dynaudio. The earbuds retain the same basic design as their predecessor, the Buds Pro, with a two-tone finish on the earbuds and a matte charging case.

The earbuds are equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers and 6mm planar diaphragm drivers and support Bluetooth 5.3. The earbuds’ active noise canceling (ANC) technology is capable of blocking out up to 48db of external noise. Each earbud has three microphones for optimal voice pickup and noise canceling.

The Buds Pro 2 support the AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs at launch, with support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec for high-resolution audio streaming over Bluetooth to be added in a future software update. The earbuds also have a low latency mode for gaming with a latency of 54ms and additional features for ColorOS 11 devices, including posture and cervical spine pressure monitoring.

When used with newer OPPO and OnePlus devices, it will support dual connection and easy switching between devices. According to OnePlus, the Buds Pro 2 can last up to 39 hours with the charging case when the ANC is turned off, and the case can be charged wirelessly using any Qi charger or wired via USB-C.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will be available in black and green colors and retail for CNY¥899 in China, with open sales beginning on 9th January 2023. It’s expected to make its way to other countries soon with an announcement expected to drop on 7th February 2023.

Pokdepinion: Seems promising given the price, but I do hope the ANC is at least decent. It looks good on paper so that’s something worth looking forward to.
