HyperX Has A New Twitch VTuber Named “Kura”

The next brand ambassador of the HP’s subsidiary brand is apparently a virtual one.

HyperX Has A New Twitch VTuber Named "Kura"

VTubers are a subset of content creators (originated from YouTube, hence the name) that relies on a virtual anime character – and now HyperX has one. Her name is Himura Kuraudo – or “Kura”. The company hopes to connect with the VTuber community with this avatar, as she represent “a direct reflection of HyperX’s efforts to embrace all gamers, online creators and fans alike”.

She even has a statement to say: “I’m excited to work with HyperX and be a part of their growing family. To be brought into this space of immense creativity and uniqueness with my very own persona created in such an authentic way is truly humbling. I’m thrilled to be a part of an organization that values inclusivity and aims to make a positive impact on others and look forward to collaborating with others and connecting with fans on my journey.”

The creation of Kura isn’t down to the company effort alone. HyperX has brought in several independent artists, including designer and illustrator Rosuuri – responsible for character design; character rigging (a method to animate characters) is handled by freelance group Iron Vertex.

Kura’s name also has its origins. Her first name, Kuraudo is basically a Japanese romaji pronunciation of the word “Cloud” – the model name for the company’s renowned gaming headset line. “Himura” as her last name represents “scarlet, dark red” and “town, village”, both representing the company’s signature color and its humble beginnings.

She will go live every Wednesday 11am PST (Thursday 3am Malaysian Time) on HyperX’s Twitch channel.

Pokdepinion: Imagine a Kura Edition Cloud Alpha though.
