At ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, Chinese squad Azure Ray took victory in a thrilling Dota 2 showdown – the 3:2 reverse sweep unfolded before a crowd of over 18,000 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), marking the first arena-scale Dota 2 LAN tournament after The International 2023 and the second in the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) Season 2.
Facing fierce competition, Azure Ray, through exceptional teamwork and experience, overcame 11 world-class teams, including the Gaimin Gladiators in the hard-fought grand finals. Their remarkable comeback from a 0-2 scoreline secured the championship and a grand prize of US$300,000 (RM1,410,000) from the substantial US$1,000,000 (RM4,700,000) prize pool.

Azure Ray’s triumph also earned them 4,800 EPT points, contributing to their standings on the Leaderboard for a potential direct invite to DreamLeague Season 22. Gaimin Gladiators, displaying valiant effort, claimed US$175,000 (RM822,500) and 3,600 EPT points for the runner-up position, while Team Liquid secured third place with US$120,000 (RM564,000) and 3,000 EPT points.
Down the line, the order of the standings is as follows: G2.IG, Team Falcons, Tundra, Team Secret, LGD Gaming, Blacklist International, 9Pandas, and Wawitas Sagazes. ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 achieved a peak viewership of over 335,000 concurrent viewers and garnered over 8 million hours watched across the six days of intense competition.
