Latest ASUS ROG & TUF Gaming Laptops Soon Available In Malaysia
At the same Transcend Beyond event today, ASUS is also introducing its gaming lineup, consisting of an updated TUF laptop, ROG Strix lineup, as well as the all-new Zephyrus G16 laptop.
The redesigned ROG Zephyrus G16 is very much a different kind of beast compared to the original design that has served for a while now, with a completely new lid and keyboard deck – the latter of which slightly reminded me of the Razer Blade. Replacing the optional AniMe Matrix panel is the new “Slash Lighting”, which is pretty self-explanatory. The new chassis also slashed the thickness down to 14.9mm, with the weight reduced to 1.85kg.
For the Malaysian market, a total of four hardware configurations are available. The cheapest option, which comes with Intel Core 7 155H + RTX 4060 (105W), will set you back RM9,999 – not cheap by any stretch. As you go up, the second configuration bumps the processor to Core Ultra 9 185H onwards, while retaining the RTX 4060 (costing RM10,999).
The following two configurations, at the price of RM11,999 and RM14,999, come packed with RTX 4070 (105W) and RTX 4080 (115W) respectively. All models come in Eclipse Gray color, with Platinum White available to the CU9 + RTX 4060 model only. Expect these models to arrive starting at the end of January.
Meanwhile, the ROG Strix SCAR and Strix G lineup is getting a standard hardware refresh, with 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh chips now handling the processing duty. All configurations will come with just one CPU – the Intel Core i9-14900HX. Prices start at RM8,999 with the RTX 4060-based Strix G16 model, and all configurations are now available.
Finally, the TUF Gaming’s sole Intel-powered F-series laptop is getting the size upgrade with the new TUF Gaming F16 laptop. The laptop will be powered by Intel Core i7-13650HX, with two GPU options available: RTX 4060 and RTX 4050. They will be priced at RM6,299 and RM5,999 respectively, and are set to arrive from 24 Jan 2024 onwards.
