LG Announces New OLED TV Lineup, Commits 5-Year Software Support

Recently, LG unveiled its 2024 OLED TV lineup, featuring a new AI processor with 4x higher AI performance. The lineup includes OLED models equipped with the α11 AI processor, offering a 70% improvement in graphic performance and 30% faster processing speed compared to previous versions.

The LG SIGNATURE OLED M4, a wireless OLED TV, now comes in a new 65-inch screen size on top of the 97-inch model offered (as OLED M3 last year). It comes with wireless video and audio transmission capabilities via its Zero Connect Box, which delivers resolutions up to 4K 144Hz.

Moving on to its mainstream offerings, the OLED evo models receive VESA’s ClearMR certification, which should mean a better gaming experience thanks to improved motion clarity. That aside, you still get up to 4K 144Hz support via HDMI 2.1, with features like Game Optimizer to quickly switch between display profiles and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible / AMD FreeSync for eliminating screen tearing. The webOS now allows users to create up to 10 individual profiles, each offering tailored recommendations based on usage history.

LG’s webOS Re:New program aims to provide the latest webOS upgrade to existing LG Smart TV owners, extending support for up to five years – which covers as far back as 2022 models including the QNED Mini LED 8K and OLED TVs. The TVs are also compatible with smart home devices supporting the Matter standard and offer support for Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast built-in.

LG OLED TVs and QNED TVs can be seamlessly paired with the company’s soundbars through WOWCAST Built-in; for individuals with special needs, LG TVs include a range of accessibility features within the Quick Card’s Accessibility section, making it easier for everyone to access services and support features designed for disabilities.
