Kingston Retains Top Spot For Channel SSD Market Share In 2023

Kingston Technology has successfully maintained its No.1 position on channel SSD market share quarter over quarter (QoQ). The company has continued its dominance with a 23.8% market share in the channel SSD market for the year 2023.

TRENDFOCUS data has officially recognized Kingston as the top client SSD vendor in the channel, achieving the highest unit market share by shipping 27.4 million client SSDs throughout 2023. Specifically, in the fourth quarter (Q4), the SSD vendor secured a 21.3% market share and shipped 5.7 million units of client SSDs. “As the year came to an end, SSD sales for PCs remain strong, with continued growth in the PCIe NVMe space. We’ll see this develop more through 2024,” said Don Jeanette, Vice President of TRENDFOCUS.

Kingston’s SSD portfolio such as the NV2 SSD, two variants of FURY Renegade SSDs, and KC3000, has allowed the company to offer PCIe 4.0 NVMe solutions catering to a wide range of users. In 2023, the portfolio gets further expanded with the introduction of XS1000 portable SSD and DC600M enterprise-class SSDs.

“Working closely with our suppliers, customers, and partners allows us to be flexible as market conditions and customer requirements change,” said Kingston. “We strive to present the latest SATA and NVMe solutions, offering a strong SSD portfolio to the channel client space to meet those needs, and these findings confirm our commitment to that effort.”

Pokdepinion: The next big thing from Kingston might be a PCIe 5.0 SSD – let’s see if it has something prepared.
