COLORFUL Unveils CVN B650/B650M GAMING FROZEN Motherboards
Chinese PC components maker COLORFUL today introduces the new CVN B650 GAMING FROZEN series of motherboards, consisting of the standard ATX (B650) and micro-ATX (B650M) form factor. The company says this model is the brand’s first to support AMD’s Ryzen 8000 series processors, featuring Ryzen AI and AVX-512 instruction set.
As the Socket AM5 motherboard, it is also backward-compatible with all Ryzen 7000 series processors – powering the chip is the 16+2+1 (12+2+1 for B650M) digital power phase VRM with 55A per powerstage. Aesthetics-wise, it’s surrounded by “military-inspired white on silver camo style” that extends to the rear side of the motherboard. It features the RGB-backlit I/O shield that can be synced via the iGame Center app.
Due to sizing differences, the available slots and I/O differ between the two variants. The larger B650 model gets one more M.2 slot on top of two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots available on both variants. PCIe slot layout also differs – while both share the same primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for GPU, and the secondary PCIe 4.0 x16 (x4 electrically), the B650M gets a single PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, while the B650 gets two PCIe 4.0 x1 slots for add-in cards. Connectivity-wise, both supports 2.5GbE LAN and Wi-Fi 6.
