Acer Debuts New Predator Helios Neo 14, Nitro 14 & Nitro 16 Gaming Laptops
Recently, Acer announced its latest lineup of gaming laptops featuring the latest processors from both Intel and AMD. A total of three models was announced – with the Predator Helios Neo 14 leading the way, followed by 14-inch and 16-inch variants of the budget-focused Nitro gaming laptops.
The updated Predator Helios Neo 14 features three CPU options, three GPU options, and three display options; at its maxed-out configuration it’ll feature the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, NVIDIA RTX 4070 (TGP not listed), and a 14.5-inch 3K (3072 x 1920) 165Hz, NVIDIA Advanced Optimus-supported IPS panel with 100% sRGB color gamut.
The common specs feature up to 32GB of soldered LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E, and 76Wh battery, all packed within a 1.9kg chassis. I/O notably includes a Thunderbolt 4 port and a microSD slot, and the 1080p webcam with Acer PurifiedView takes care of online conferencing duties. As mandated by Microsoft, there’s the Copilot key taking the spot where Right Ctrl key previously resided.
Moving on to Nitro laptops, the new Nitro 14 will be entirely powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 8045HS series APUs with Ryzen AI onboard, and the CPU can be optioned with the 8-core Ryzen 7 8845HS. Display options include 14.5-inch QHD+ or FHD+ 16:10, 120Hz, 100% sRGB IPS panels, and GPU options consisting of NVIDIA RTX 3050, RTX 4050, and RTX 4060. Memory and storage configurations max out at 32GB LPDDR5X and 1TB respectively, and it shares the same 76Wh battery as the Predator laptop, while weighing slightly heavier at 2.02kg.
Meanwhile, the Nitro 16 will come in both Intel and AMD flavors – for the Intel camp, you get up to the Core i7-14700HX; and AMD options max out at Ryzen 9 8945HS. Both variants get the same display options including two FHD+ 165Hz panels (one with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, and one without), plus the QHD+ 165Hz option. The 16-inch model uses the SO-DIMM DDR5 modules (up to 32GB by default), and up to 2TB of SSD available. It also has a 76Wh battery and weighs 2.435kg.
No local pricing has been announced, though Acer has listed US pricing for the aforementioned laptops. The price starts at $1,799 for the Predator Helios Neo 14, while the Nitro 16 and Nitro 14 start at $1,399 and $1,299 respectively.
Pokdepinion: Can’t say I’m a fan of Copilot key taking away RCtrl key, though.
