Yep, the successor to the much-hyped OnePlus One, the OnePlus Two will be launched on July 27th 7.00 p.m. PST (10.00 a.m. in our timezone). Notice that I didn’t put in a location? That’s because OnePlus will be unveiling the Two to the world completely in VR, so everyone around the world can stream it and be a part of it. It will be the world’s first ever product launch in VR.

They also designed a cardboard VR headset tailored to the OnePlus One, available for free, excluding shipping. They believe the experience will be more impressive with the custom headset they designed.

Earlier this month, they teased a “secret” launch project when they asked their fans to create videos of their OnePlus stories and best smartphone photography. The fans who won those contests will help them present the entire launch of the OnePlus 2 in VR.

A VR launch lets you stand right next to our team and our fans as we unveil our new flagship. You’ll be able to look around as you check out the phone in a new way and maybe even find a few hidden Easter eggs. It’s a new way of thinking about a product launch. We aren’t talking at you; we are talking with you.

The confirmed specifications for the OnePlus Two are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, USB Type-C port and of course their own custom skin of Android, OxygenOS since they are no longer affiliated to Cyanogen.

Pokdepinion: We really like flagship killers like the OnePlus One, bringing flagship hardware with an affordable price. But since OnePlus has officially confirmed the Two won’t be as affordable as the OnePlus One, we can only hope the pricing will still be affordable for the specifications. OnePlus should also come up with a better invite system. Malaysia only got the OnePlus One a year after it’s official launching. Before that they weren’t even officially available in Malaysia and can only be purchased from grey importers.
